Measurement

Biomarkers

What can we measure about health and aging — and what does the measurement actually tell us? We separate established clinical measurements from risk markers, emerging tests and research-stage aging biomarkers.

Measurable does not necessarily mean meaningful.

A biomarker can predict risk without being causal, and a test can change after an intervention without proving that health or lifespan improved. Each page separates measurement, association, interpretation and limitations.
